I am a Washington DC native who got involved with music at about nine years old. I started out playing classical music and discovered jazz in high school (Duke Ellington/arts). Since then I have been playing music for a living. Most people know me as a chill laid back person... I do not have too much to say. I let my music do the talking. I love performing jazz and various styles of music for respective audiences.

Matt Clohesy, Australian Bassist living in NYC, left Melbourne in 2001. Since then, Matt has been gigging and recording with artists including Geoffrey Keezer, Ingrid Jensen, Maria Schneider, Eric Alexander, Joel Frahm, Diego Urcola, Eric Person, Will Vinson, Lage Lund, Matt Shulman, Kendrick Scott, Gretchen Parlato, David Schnitter, Manuel Valera, Ernesto Simpson and Paulette McWilliams. Prior to moving to New York, Matt received a Bachelor of Music at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne and worked with Australian artists including Dale Barlow, Mike Nock, Joe Chindamo, Vince Jones and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

John V. Brown, Jr., leader of the John Brown Quintet and double bass player, is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina. He is a graduate of the School of Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the School of Law at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. John began studying the bass with Susan Ellington when he was nine years old and has been performing professionally since his teens. “I was always surrounded by music when I was young, and I especially loved my mother’s playing,” John says from his home in Durham, North Carolina. He decided on this title because of the inspiration and ideas that the Lord bestowed upon him in the making of this project. The compositions on this CD are created with a combination of traditional and piccolo bass guitars. Will often uses these instruments to construct a musical blend that is delightful to the ear. Will began playing the bass guitar in the sixth grade and has added additional instruments along the way to culminate the making of this project. Patrick Prouty is a veteran bassist/composer from Detroit, MI. His previous side-man gigs have included playing with Bill Heid, Johnnie Bassett, Jan Krist, Al and Whit Hill, Alberta Adams and many other artists. Since 2000, he has been Bettye Lavette’s bassist. The Lavette band has toured the world playing all over North America, 24 tours of Europe and most recently, a tour of Japan. In 2007 Patrick received a master’s degree in improvisation from The University of Michigan. Patrick has won numerous awards including a Handy, multiple Detroit Music Awards and was the winner of the Block M Records New Music Award in 2006.
