Jonathan Richards

Jonathan Richards is a bassist, composer, and music teacher living in Los Angeles. He performs a wide range of musical genres and has had the privilege of working with an array of artists including Joe LaBarbera, Terell Stafford, Jeff Clayton, Peter Erskine, Eric Reed, Van Hunt, JR Rotem, and Postmodern Jukebox. Jonathan is a graduate of the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California. At USC he studied privately with bass virtuoso Nico Abondolo and jazz legend John Clayton. Jonathan is a touring musician, with highlights including performances with Joe Labarbara at the Rochester International Jazz Festival and a North American tour with Grammy Award winning artist Van Hunt

Born: August 14, 1981

Since graduating from Trinity College of Music in 2005, Matt has established himself as one of the most versatile, creative and hard-working bass players on the UK jazz scene. Known for his imaginative soloing, solid time keeping and great sound, he is in demand for both straight-ahead and modern jazz. He has performed worldwide and at many of London’s most prestigious venues such as the Purcell Room, the Cadogan Hall, Ronnie Scott’s, Dean Street Pizza Express Jazz Club, King’s Place, the Barbican main stage, and the O2 Arena. He is a regular at the Swanage, Marlborough and Scarborough jazz festivals, and continues to perform at others both at home and abroad. I attended the Juilliard School (2 years in the prep, 4 years in the upper school, from '74-'80), where I studied under Homer Mensch. I've also studied jazz extensively with Cecil McBee, Fred Hersch, and Eric Kloss. Playing with Saxaphone legend Phil Woods, World Renowned Educator and Pianist Shelly Berg, and Grammy Nominee Patti Austin at the age of only 17, Justin has been a rising star in the music business. In 2012, Justin graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Professional Music BMA in Performance and Music Business. Davide Liberti

Born: October 2, 1980

Davide began to play the electric bass around the age of fourteen. Some years later he met jazz music and he was flashed while listening to Scott La Faro. Self-taught, he began to study the double bass. In these years he has had an intense live concerts activity in numerous Italian jazz festivals such as Clusone and Iseo Jazz Festival, Piacenza Jazz Festival, Avigliana Jazz Festival….and in foreign countries like Czech Republic, Bosnia, Swiss, France. Since 1998 he has teached electric bass, double bass and ensamble music in many schools.

Arjen Gorter

Arjen Gorter (2 januari 1948, Amsterdam, The Netherlands) played accordeon at age 8, guitar at 12 and double bass from age 16. He is self-taught, but for a few months of classical bass lessons and some semesters of weekly jazz workshops with Theo Loevendie and Nedly Elstak. He graduated from the Barlaeus Gymnasium and studied political science and sociology at the University of Amsterdam, until becoming a full-time musician in early 1970.
