Nate White

Nate White, At the tender age of 16, started playing Bass Guitar, he went on to work with the former Music Director (John Manuel) of the Motown Recording Act the "Spinners" In 1975 they formed a Soul/Jazz Group along with four other musicians. In 1976 they were discovered by Jazz Legend, Roy Ayers. Impressed with there unique sound they were invited to record an album that resulted in a recording contract with ABC Records. The Roy Ayers produced LP "Come Into Knowledge" featuring the re-make of Roy's hit "Everybody Loves The Sunshine". The album charted on Billboard top 100 in 1977. The group achieved moderate success and found themselves as opening act for Kool & the Gang, Roy Ayers and Grover Washington Jr. With enternal issues at the record company the album never received the proper promotion which eventually led the band members to pursue other opportunities..

Born in Washington, D.C. to a family of musicians and singers, William had an ear for music from a very young age. He recalls being captivated by songs like Frankenstein (Edgar Winter) which to this day is one of his favorite songs. William started playing bass around 1979. In the years following, he learned to play guitar and some keyboards. He always had the dream of producing a CD since first picking up the bass. He has now released his debut CD Pillars and Dreams in fulfillment of that dream. He encourages other to keep perusing after their dreams.

Hamilton Sterling began playing electric bass in elementary school. He was very fortunate to have had committed music teachers in a time when music and art were funded in the public schools. He attended Dick Grove Jazz workshops over two summers, studying with Carol Kaye. Hamilton played bass in the Young Sounds Jazz Ensemble, an all-star big band founded by the Phoenix Musician’s Union, and entered the Allstate Orchestra as Principal Bassist his senior year. While in high school he performed with professional jazz ensembles that included Lewis Nash, Theresa Dimond, Joseph Tapia, Dick Weller, and Charlie Argersinger, and later with Allan Chase, Keith Miles, Ted Goddard, Charles Lewis, Prince Shell, Francine Reed, Dave Cook, and Tom Ferguson.

As a clinician, Ray has performed and demonstrated his concepts to students throughout the United States & Europe at events such as Bass Day - LA, The National Guitar Summer Workshop, The San Francisco Bass Weekend, The School of Bass in AZ and Bass Day New York 2001 which also featured Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, Matt Garrison, Mike Pope and Christian McBride. Ray was also part of the ZON Ultimate Bass Concert in Berkley CA with Michael Manring, Todd Johnson and Damian Erskine. Riendeau is also acknowledged for his contributions alongside highly- revered guitarists such as Alex Machacek, Nat Janoff, John 5, Derek Taylor, Greg Koch, Gary Hoey, Jeff Kollman, Scott Mishoe, Ron Jarzombek, Pat Lachman, Mike Chlasciak, Neil Zaza, Curtis Reid & Rob Popescu. Riendeau assisted in the research and development of Sunn bass amps and the Fender Bassman series combo amps for Fender Musical Instruments

Years ago, Freddie Washington was a young upstart trying to make a name for himself in the music business. With luck, great timing, and a wealth of talent, he was recommended to replace a bass player who was leaving Herbie Hancock’s band. During his audition, Freddie played with such authority and passion that he got the job. He had unleashed a raw power that impressed Hancock and jump-started his career. He continued to tour with Hancock for several years andappeared on several hit albums by the jazz artist,including “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now,” “Mister Hands” and “Monster.” That was just the beginning for Freddie
