The Pearcy / Gratzmiller Jazz Quintet

The Pearcy/ Gratzmiller Jazz Quintet offers an energetic, fresh take on hard bop jazz that all audiences can enjoy. PGJQ performs original music composed by its co-leaders Wayne Pearcy (Trumpet) and Aaron Gratzmiller (Saxophone), which combine modern music elements with the soulful sound of classic Jazz quintets. They have performed on WHRB radio, and were featured for the second time on the 502 Sessions with Brian Kerby in November 2018. “Over the Edge” is the title of the PGJQ’s debut album. It contains 10 original compositions written over the course of nearly a decade by Pearcy and Gratzmiller

Kingwood Big Band

Organized in the fall of 2004, the Kingwood Big Band is a collection of adult musicians sponsored by Lone Star College in Kingwood, Texas and the Kingwood Musical Arts Society. Band members include students, engineers,medical professionals, music educators, and businessmen drawn together by a mutual love of classic big band jazz.

Boasting a large repertoire of music made famous by such Big Band era luminaries as Duke Ellington, Harry James, Stan Kenton, Tommy Dorsey, and others, the Kingwood Big Band is gaining regional acclaim for exciting performances and dances.

Houston Mayor Bill White and the members of the Houston City Council recently honored the Kingwood Big Band with a declaration designating October 27, 2006 as Kingwood Big Band Day.

In their "Jazz Rock Psychedelia", the band KUHN FU of guitarist, composer and master of ceremonies, Christian Kühn, turns everything through the improvisational wolf. Zappa meets cabaret, surf sounds and metal riffs ride the Chattanooga Choo- Choo, while Shakespeare, Brecht and Monty Python are the godfathers.

Jerusalem In My Heart

Jerusalem In My Heart (JIMH) is a live audio-visual performance project, with Montréal-based producer and musician Radwan Ghazi Moumneh and Montréal-based filmmaker Charles-André Coderre at its core. Jerusalem In My Heart release their music on Montreal label Constellation Records. JIMH have released three studio albums, Mo7it Al-Mo7it (2013), If He Dies, If If If If If If (2015) and a self-titled album with Suuns, released on Secretly Canadian.

The trio is one of the brightest stars of the Polish jazz scene, recognised for their unique talent in blending tradition with contemporary sound.

Marcin Wasilewski Trio is: Marcin Wasilewski, piano, (born 1975), Sławomir Kurkiewicz, double- bass, (born 1975) and Michał Miśkiewicz (born 1977) playing drums.

The band combines the grand tradition of the challenging piano trio tenet and creates their own distinct sound in doing so. It is also one of the most consistently developing bands of the Polish music scene, and one that is very open to inspiration from the surrounding environment. The Marcin Wasilewski Trio is considered one of the most acclaimed and unique jazz formations of its generation, and it has garnered recognition in its native Poland as well as abroad.

Ameranouche Gypsy Flamenco Swing

The award winning Ameranouche (pronounced uh-Mare-uh-noosh) plays a passionate style of music they call “Gypsy Flamenco Swing.” They are veterans of the Newport Jazz Festival, Djangofest Northwest, Muzikfest Bethlehem, PA and the National Press Club. The name is derived from two words: American and Manouche, the gypsy tribe of guitarist Django Reinhardt. The rip-roaring ensemble is a super force of hot acoustic Gypsy inspired music mixing Flamenco, Bebop and Jazz swing influences. Played on traditional French jazz guitars, the music is rhythmic, vigorous, and elegant. Whether they’re playing a musette waltz from 1930 or an Andalusian inspired original tune, Ameranouche’s Gypsy Flamenco Swing style is a fresh and highly enjoyable new sound for the 21st century. Formed in 2015 after meeting at McGill University, the band name reflects the discord felt by the common man, between remaining complacent and refusing to abide. The pendulum of their music swings from subtle beauty to relentless rage, driven by the musicality and sensitivity of the four musicians Lawful Citizen live performances have been described as a transcendent and mesmerizing experience.
