Anita Brown Jazz Orchestra gave its debut performance on August 15, 2000 at The Cutting Room in New York City, under the direction of its founder, composer/conductor Anita Brown. Since then, this dynamic ensemble has given performances at a number of New York’s finest venues including Sweet Rhythm, Steinway Hall and John Birks Gillespie Auditorium and was among the featured performing artists at the 2007 IAJE Annual Conference (NYC) and The 2005 New York Brass Conference. Libera X

The free improvising quartet Libera X practises meeting different improvising traditions. Music from the Mediterranean countries, Africa and the Middle East have always been seedbed of spontaneous expressions for soloists and ensembles. Breaking free from American jazz (free or other), keeping the techniques and rhythmical aesthetics, the quartet Libera X means to regain such freedom which existed also in the North of Spain before the decline of pure rhythmic and its corollary, sometimes so sensual and spiritual (groove, duende, tarab…) and restarts with that non-written music of instantaneous expression

Cytosoul

Welcome to the home of Cytosoul. We are a Seattle based quartet who compose original music, mixing jazz improvization, classical waltzes, boleros, and art-songs. The melodically captivating, lush, dynamic arrangements give the music a certain intimacy that audiences can enjoy at a live performance or on our debut album "Balance", available now on CD Baby. In April, 2007, the group was featured on a Sonarchy radio broadcast in Seattle, WA. Mysteries Of The Revolution

Formed out of the rhythmic core of his famed Red Orchidstra (whose version of the theme from the seminal '71 Brit gangster movie Get Carter is acknowledged as a groove classic) BB DAVIS' MYSTERIES OF THE REVOLUTION is a collaboration between long-time musical associate French virtuoso keyboardist DAN BIRO and the much sought after UK bassist MARK SMITH. BB DAVIS, whose largesse and unmistakable electric performances are legendary, has grown in stature from the underground and whilst MOTR's eponymous album, in part, evokes the spirit of 70's fusion "psychedelica electronica" such as Miles, Herbie H, Zawinul and Lifetime, it's also a journey of intense emotional, passionate instrumental playing by all three protagonists who firmly place their own individual, indelible stamp on the music. Journeying from the light--the chorale intro to "Welcome"--through to the dark weirdness of "Moonfrog's Tucker" [a slight caress to Beefheart] the album takes a semi-filmic mystical/urban ride to the apocalyptic "Have You Seen Enough?" thence backing into the light once more with the ethereal end-piece "Evolution". Whether it be the earnest, full-on, passionate Hammond growling of "The Crunch", the subtle, driving "Romantica", the Arabic flavoured "Secret Fire" [inspired by a stay in the Moroccan old port city of Essaouira] the uniquely enigmatic 'The Elevation Of Mr Handy' or the slinky vibe of "Storius Sensorius" each track displays the unit's oneness and sense of purpose. As well as its retro-psychedelic experimentation the album also features BB's tour-de-force flute/beatvox piece "Big Buddah" [dedicated to one of his greatest influences Roland Kirk] which continues to stun audiences everywhere. But MOTR's not on any overt nostalgia trip

Guitarist, Steve Nowak has been a well-respected figure in the Pacific Northwest’s community of professional musicians for many years. After touring nationally in the 1970’s and '80’s, Steve has spent the past two decades in Seattle, honing his formidable Jazz and rhythm and blues skills. Playing and recording with talented performers such as Lonnie Williams, Jay Thomas, Norm Bellas, Seattle Women in Rhythm & Blues, Jay Roberts, the Drifters and numerous others, Steve Nowak brings a seasoned talent to Odd Man In. Bob Rothstein is the bassist for Odd Man In. Having spent several decades as a guitarist, Bob has extensive experience playing, writing and recording in the Jazz, folk, and blues idioms
