Isotope

Isotope were one of the major (and earliest) British jazz-rock bands of the 1970s, coming along chronologically only just behind Soft Machine and Nucleus, the two UK pioneer bands in the genre. Isotope was formed by guitarist Gary Boyle in 1972. After about a year, the band signed with a major U.K. management company who got the band signed to a independent label which was owned by a film company and things really took off. By the time of their second and best-known album, Illusion, the band consisted of Gary, ex-Soft Machine bassist Hugh Hopper keyboardist Laurence Scott and drummer Nigel Morris

The Oscillators

The Oscillators is a unique and progressive group composed of some of DC's finest jazz musicians. The group seeks to break boundaries and forge a new sound in today’s ever-fragmented world of modern jazz. Their repertoire is almost exclusively original, the sound anchored by syncopated bass and drum rhythms that provide a strong canvas on which a guitar and tenor sax paint harmonies and colors, enhanced with live electronics. The collective sound is a tapestry of interwoven rhythms and textures that provide the listener an engaging and innovative sound. The music is a dichotomy of complexity and simplicity, and is an amalgamation of the group’s influences and experiences. VidyA

VidyA is an adventurous new group that merges the virtuosity of Jazz with the melodic and rhythmic nuance of South Indian classical (Carnatic) music. Alpha Transit

Alpha Transit is an all-original jam band that takes the usual elements of funk, rock, jazz, and blues and the not so usual elements of electronic and dance music and puts them in the blender with a double shot of improvisation. Transit Comes Alive!, the newest addition to the Alpha Transit catalog, is the first of a two part series of releases recorded 100 percent live at the Milwaukee Ale House during the summer of 2008. The titles of these recordings pay tribute to the seemingly distant era when the record buying masses encouraged and supported their favorite groups extending and improvising on their songs in the live jam format
