Delco Nightingale is a recent addition to the Philadelphia music scene, bringing a rockin' new twist to swing era classics. This group of musical personalities is comprised of vocalist Erin Berry, guitarist Greg Phoenix, upright bassist Sawyer Thomas and drummer Brian Turner. These musicians infuse their individual expertise in jazz, rockabilly, live theatre and outsider music to create a uniquely swinging sound. Their goal is to bring these cleverly written, fun and romantic songs not only to nostalgic listeners of big band standards, but also to a new audience whose familiarity with this music may not go beyond glances of WWII films and perused record collections from the family credenza

The Fat Cat Big Band is a musical pride of eleven lions in their own fields, fueled by the dynamic creative leadership of guitarist, composer, and arranger Jade Synstelien. Synstelien was born on August 17th, 1974, in Minneapolis. A musician, composer, arranger, and band leader, Jade picked up the alto sax at age eleven but traded it for a guitar at thirteen. He grew up traveling and living all over the United States, and has worked as a professional musician since the age of fifteen, he has become well-versed in all styles of musical performance. Synstelien began composing when he was 13 and by 17 was scoring music for big bands, funk and dance bands, world beat, and reggae bands, and eventually large-scale symphonic jazz works

Gnu Trio

The Gnu Trio was formed by three Argentine musicians living in Madrid, Spain at the beginning of 2007. The saxophonist, Marcelo Peralta, and guitarist, Guillermo Bazzola, first met in 1982 and have since collaborated on countless musical projects both in Spain and Argentina. Andrés Litwin, the youngest member, arrived in Madrid at the end of 2006 after living in Holland and studying at the prestigious Amsterdam Conservatory. Gnu Trio’s musical sensibility is innovative--it cannot be pigeonholed--and knows no stylistic boundaries. While fitting within the wide universe of jazz, it does so from a dynamic and all-inclusive perspective

This exciting jazz quartet's 2009 album Time’s Up! (SPIDER RECORDS) was featured in JAZZIZ magazine. In 2010, the record won a Syracuse Area Music Award (Sammy) for best jazz Recording and continues to receive airplay in more than 120 cities worldwide. In 2012, E.S.P. was voted “Best Jazz Group” in the Syracuse New Times annual reader’s poll.

The Alcohotlicks

The Alcohotlicks are a Sydney based band formend in the later part of 2002 featuring 1st & 2nd place winners at the 07' Wangaratta Festival of Jazz, National Jazz Awards, Aaron Flower and Ben Hauptmann. The instrumentation of the band is unique comprising of two electric guitars and drummer, Evan Mannell. The first two years were spent writing and performing in the local Sydney Jazz scene. The Alcohotlicks have written over thirty compositions for the band and have released two self produced live recordings. The Alcohotlicks released their first studio album entitled 'You,You' (Jazzgroove Records) in Oct 08'

Will Cafaro is a doubling bassist and composer from Detroit, Michigan. Will started pursuing jazz in his senior year of high school when he was a awarded a spot in the Detroit Civic Jazz Ensembles. Under guidance of instructors Sam Trapchack and Rodney Whitaker will was awarded a scholarship to Berklee College of Music where he now is a dual major in Bass Performance and Jazz Composition. He has had the opportunity to study and perform with great players like Benny Golson, Greg Hopkins, Julian Lage, John Lockwood, Lincoln Goines, Bruce Gertz, Eric Alexander, Ed Saindon, Henry Grimes, Greg Osby and Oscar Stagnaro.

Variable Density Sound Orchestra

The Variable Density Sound Orchestra is veteran Boston-based guitarist/composer Garrison Fewell's newest working ensemble. Whenever possible, this international group features charter members Roy Campbell (trumpet and flute), Achille Succi (alto saxophone and bass clarinet), Eric Hofbauer (guitar), John Voigt (bass) and Miki Matsuki (drums), all of whom appear on its self-titled February 2009 debut.

As the band’s name implies, its original music, composed and conceived by Fewell, explores a wide range of textures and musical interactions. “The goal,” he explains, “is to create balance, not allowing individual soloists, collective instant composing or pre-composed material to dominate for too long.”

Reverend Zen

Check out the latest awards ceremony for independent music and you'll likely find Reverend Zen named among the nominees or winners. Since the release of their debut CD the rock, blues, jazz group has continuously garnered critical acclaim, receiving fifty-two music industry awards from around the world. John Schoenberger of Billboard's Radio and Records in Los Angeles reflects on the band's success stating, "Reverend Zen's Angels, Blues & the Crying Moon is simply a very good record."

Giancarlo Mazzu/Luciano Troja Duo

Giancarlo and Luciano play together on the international jazz scene since 2002. Together they released a dozen of CDs. Their music is mainly based on the search for new forms and expressions, related to tradition with a solid jazz background, mixed with folk music, classical forms and free improvisation. They performed and toured together in several festivals and jazz-club in Europe and U.S.A. Composers and players of creative music ensemble Mahanada Quartet, they toured in Europe and USA. With Mahanada they released three critically acclaimed CDs (Critic’s Choice Top Ten 2006, Cadence Jazz Magazine ; Best Albums Of 2006, All About Jazz Italy). With the quartet, they represented Italy at XI Athens Biennial of European Art 2003.
