Nova Modern Jazz Trio

Nova Modern is a unique jazz trio assembled in 2008 by guitarist Bob Bozonelos and saxophonist Waylon Hicks. Great chemistry is the core of the band’s success and their signature brand of funk flavored grooves always prove to be fun and exciting. With the absence of a bass player, Bob was forced to cover the bass line along with the guitar chords simultaneously, (not an easy task to cover) but amazingly it all worked! To make the endeavor more possible, Bob invested in a custom made 8-string guitar and with that The Nova Modern was born. With their high energy, fresh, new jazz sound, Nova Modern is a pleasurable musical journey away from the ordinary. Waylon Hicks: Saxophone Bobby B: 8-String Guitar, All other strings, Electronics, Compositions

Lyric Fury

Active since:

When it comes to the handle of composer and pianist Cynthia Hilts’s intriguing octet, Lyric Fury, as the name suggests, the music is defined by powerful contrasts. Hilts likes to build from long, meditative passages to explosive endings. The tried and true technique of tension (and more tension) and release seldom yields more satisfaction or surprise. But as witness the brisk, striking originals on Lyric Fury, Hilts’s captivating new album, her orchestrations can go in different directions (and different keys) in the same moment, within the same beat or phrase. Imagine, if you will, a peaceful waltz through the meadow and a frantic run through a thunderstorm happening at the same time

Slivovitz

Slivovitz are together since late september 2001. As we deeply enjoy the taste of the plum distillate "slivovitz", that's where our name comes from. During these years, we've released a record for a label called ethnoworld (www.ethnoworldmusic.com) and played a lot, either in Italy and abroad (especially Hungary, where we played also in SZIGET 2004 under the name "Jeff & The Wild Slivovitz), winning several competition of Jazz and instrumental music in general. We are based mainly in Naples, but some of us are currently living or working in Rome and in Milan. We do feel the task to keep it up, though! So, please, check out our music at the website www.slivovitz.net, we hope you're going to enjoy Slivovitz as much as we do!

The Wee Trio

The Wee Trio is a collaborative musical exploration consisting of vibraphonist James Westfall, bassist Dan Loomis, and drummer Jared Schonig. In what started as a regular collective of Brooklyn musicians who got together to jam, chemistry quickly formed and thus was born The Wee Trio. The band kicked off their inaugural tour performing throughout New York and Pennsylvania playing at a few clubs, a Jazz Festival, and an Artist Residency at a local University. The band reconvened back in Brooklyn to record and document the trio. The documented recording entitled Capital Diner Vol. 1 features original compositions by the trio with a few standards composed by Kurt Cobain, Sufjan Stevens, and Thelonious Monk

Contemporary Noise Sextet (Quintet , Quartet)

Contemporary Noise Sextet is the band established by Kapsa brothers, who earlier formed Something Like Elvis the legendary emo-hardcore band. Formerly known as Contemporary Noise Quintet/Quartet. CNS musicians are also: Tomek Glazik, saxophones (Kult, ex-4Syfon, Sing, Sing Penelope), Wojtek Jahna, trumpet (Sing, Sing Penelope, Mordy) and the guitar player Kamil Pater who joined the band in November 2006 and lately Patryk Weclawek (bass) who replaced Pawel Urowski. CNS’s music can be described as energetic jazz with the elements of film music. However, the variety of sounds does not allow pigeonholing their music style unambiguously. The debut record “Pig Inside The Gentleman” was released in autumn 2006
