Astronauts of Antiquity
Marrying the vibey, seductively ethereal textures of lounge, dub and trance with the timeless verities of great pop and rock songwriting, Astronauts of Antiquity have bridged various musical worlds to create a realm all their own. And while their journey has taken them around the globe, on their new album, Rocket Science For Dummies, they have brought it all back home, delivering an album that is seamless and mesmerizing, reflecting a unified expression of their musical vision. Their music has been called everything from “urban-electro-organica,” to a “jazzy, neo-soulful, electronic exploration,” but more than any genre, what defines Astronauts of Antiquity is the musical and life partnership of India on vocals and B

The Fully Celebrated
Led by saxophonist Jim Hobbs, and formerly known as The Fully Celebrated Orchestra, the group has been a fixture on Boston's jazz scene for more than two decades.
For its first release in four years, Drunk on the Blood of the Holy Ones (AUM Fidelity), the founding line-up of Hobbs, bassist Timo Shanko and drummer Django Carranza returned to the studio to document eight new quintessentially eclectic compositions.
“Jim Hobbs and his Fully Celebrated Orchestra combine vast musical prowess and playful, irreverent intelligence,” wrote AllAboutJazz.com’s Paul Olson in his review of the group’s most recent release, 2005’s Lapis Exilis (Skycap Records). “No one today is playing the alto better than Hobbs -- the vast range of tones he summons from the small horn is altogether remarkable...Carranza and Shanko are a devastating rhythm section...a powerhouse group. Jim Hobbs and the Fully Celebrated Orchestra play virtuoso jazz music with a marked eclecticism.”

Resonance Big Band
Some may call it hubris to introduce Marian Petrescu with an album in which he is asked to step into the shoes of a uniquely accomplished and intimidating virtuoso. But that assumption evaporates in an instant, once the music of Resonance Big Band Plays the Legacy of Oscar Peterson begins. That's all it takes to make clear that this remarkable album is inspired not by bravado but by Petrescu's respect and even love for the artist he credits with inspiring his commitment to jazz. More About Resonance Big Band Some may call it hubris to introduce Marian Petrescu with an album in which he is asked to step into the shoes of a uniquely accomplished and intimidating virtuoso

Bipolar
Bipolar was born because one morning in July 2005, trumpeter/composer Jed Feuer awakened with a fervent desire, after a long layoff, to return to playing. His aim was to start a quintet which would demonstrate variety, energy, taste and almost always, a departure from the norm. He called his pal, pianist Craig Swanson, and asked him to join forces. Craig expressed great interest and enthusiasm. Within six months, BIPOLAR was performing at Bargemusic, The Metropolitan, Room, Jazz at St. Peter’s and so on. So with Jed on trumpet + flugelhorn, Craig at the piano, Stephanie Long on saxophones, flute + piccolo, David Ostrem on double bass, and James Windsor-Wells on drums, Bipolar is paving new roads into jazz repertoires and performance possibilities

Lima Lima
A new and surprisingly different vocal album!
”Oh Mighty Thought-control” is Lima Lima’s debut album and will be
released in april 2008 on the new Danish label Your Favourite Records.
The music is an offspring of Ulla Pihl’s own little world, which through music
can be experienced by everybody else. You will notice very fast that Ulla
Pihl’s world is different from your own; physics don’t apply, money doesn’t
exist... or to make it short: everything is as twisted as her own curly hair.
The lyrics are in English and served with a good portion of self-irony, humour
and warmth
