Meretrio

The Meretrio was brought together in São Paulo – Brasil, in 2004, as an initiative of Emiliano Sampaio (guitar and trombone), Gustavo Boni (acoustic and electric bass), and Luis André (drums and percussion), with the purpose of researching the diversity of popular music. In 2021, Meretrio releases its 7. album "Choros" playing only Brazilian music! Meretrio played in important Festivals in Europe, Australia and Brazil such as Bayerisches Jazz Weekend, Perth Jazz Fest, Fête de la Musique, Jazz´n More, Mikulassky Jazz Festival, SESC Sao Paulo, Jazz Na Fábrica, and in the famous concert halls Porgy & Bess in Vienna and Sendesaal in Bremen. In 2017 Meretrio released the album Óbvio featuring the saxophonist Heinrich Von Kalnein (Jazz Big Band Graz) in two tracks, which got four stars from the Downbeat Magazine and entered in the list “Best Albums of the Year”. In 2019, Meretrio recorded a new project asking the question: would it be possible to mix trombone, guitar and electronics in a way that the music is also playable in live situations? This was Meretrio´s main motivation to compose several compositions exploring different colors than the traditional jazz trio Guitar, Bass and Drums

Mojo Mancini is a group of New York City musicians formed out of longstanding friendships, hours spent on stages and in studios, and a desire to play music with no other agenda than having fun and being musically in the moment. The Salvagery

The Salvagery is a three-piece outfit from Portland, Oregon. The three members - Curt Siffert, Steve Turmell, and Steve Morgan - all played together in a large show/jazz combo called Deja Nu. A jam session before a rehearsal led to them deciding to get together on their own time to record some improvisation sessions. The sessions were held in Siffert's living room. Over the course of five sessions, several recordings were complied - the most interesting of the recordings were collected and published into their first release, Triage.

Adaawe

Through constant improvisation, they breathe new life into ancient music. Their spirit of celebration and strength is the inspiration behind ADAAWE. These beautiful and skilled percussionists and vocalists come from all over the world, and their music is an international fusion of African music and rhythms, R&B/pop vocals, arresting Gospel vocal harmonies, and funky original creations

Old Time Musketry

Old Time Musketry presents a joyous music that draws on the exuberant spirit of early jazz, the poignant melodies and soulful grooves of rock and folk music, the energy and spontaneity of free improvisation, and a willfully experimental attitude towards combining these elements into a unique vision of American music. Old Time Musketry joined forces in early 2009 in Brooklyn and has been developing their unique sound by performing widely in the New York area and around the Northeast. Born in Portland, Maine and educated at the New England Conservatory in Boston (where he studied with Steve Lacy, Bob Brookmeyer, and Joe Morris among others), saxophonist and clarinetist Adam Schneit has been a vital presence on the New York music scene since moving to Brooklyn in 2006

The Urban Renewal Project

The Urban Renewal Project has been kicking around the Pacific Coast for the better part of four years, using the instruments of a bygone era to create a signature sound that blurs the boundaries between pop, soul, jazz and hip-hop. The band's dynamic and multifarious live performances have captivated listeners and brought audiences to their feet in packed rooms from The House of Blues in LA to Rockwood Music Hall in NYC. With the combined vocal talents of the jazz singing, trombone playing Aubrey Logan and freestyle rap virtuoso Elmer Demond, the URP is back with its sophomore release in Local Legend

Janya

In Sanskrit, JANYA means to be born, while in Korean, JANYA means around dawn. JANYA was created by four unique musicians-- all derived from Korean descent and all women. The music is a fusion of East and West. The East: Seungmin Cha- Daegeum, Eun Sun Jung- Gayageum and Woonjung Sim- Janggo. The West: half-Korean American Singer Lola Jung Danza. Something magical exists between these four musician women and so, JANYA was born, around dawn.

Lola Danza is half-Korean and born in the USA. Danza has a Bachelors degree from Berklee College of Music and a Master's degree from Aaron Copland School of Music

Founded in 1964, the Victoria Conservatory of Music has enriched lives through music by fostering a thriving community of musicians and music lovers who celebrate the teaching, learning and performance of music at all levels.
