Balagan Cafe Band

An eclectic new project, this group combines the worlds of jazz, world music and classical, featuring the intimate chamber instrumentation of violin, guitar, cello and accordion and an elegant yet fiery fusion of improvisation and written music. Ranging from Parisian and American Jazz, the Chaabi music of Algeria, Tango from Argentina, Balkan folk melodies through to the early modern and folk music of Western Europe, Balagan fuses these threads into a coherent and characteristic sound world. ‘…this is music for the ears, heart and feet.’ The past couple of years have seen the band perform at venues including the Elgar Room, Omnibus and National Portrait Gallery to enthusiastic public responses

Mambo Kings Orchestra

MAMBO KINGS, together since 1995, are enjoying great success as Upstate New York's foremost Latin jazz ensemble, and have rapidly earned a national reputation for their explosive blend of Afro Cuban rhythms and jazz improvisation. Since their orchestral debut in 1997 with the Rochester Philharmonic and Conductor Jeff Tyzik, Mambo Kings have appeared at the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival and in Pops concerts with orchestras in Baltimore, Vancouver, Detroit, Dallas, Naples (FL) and Portland (OR), among many others, performing original compositions and arrangements by pianist Richard DeLaney. As a quintet, Mambo Kings have appeared as featured soloists at the 2003 and 2008 Xerox Rochester International Jazz Fest, the Music In The Mountains Festival in Colorado, the Lewiston (NY) Jazz Fest and most recently, the 2017 Big Sky Arts Fest in Bozeman, MT. The 2016-17 season opened with shows in Chattanooga and Fort Lewis (AR) and included return performances with the Vancouver (BC) and Dallas Symphony Orchestras

Vent Nouveau

Some of the finest wind and brass players in the New York area have come together to form a new ensemble that brings the best music for winds, brass, and percussion to all sorts of great places. Vent Nouveau is a collective of musicians dedicated to bringing attention to the wide variety of underperformed repertoire for winds and brass and is configurable to adapt to the wealth of repertoire available. A relatively new ensemble (formed in 2016), individual members bring abundant experience to the group. All well versed in chamber music and wind repertoire, members of the ensemble have performed chamber music with musicians from the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, American Wind Symphony, Dallas Wind Symphony, and the West Point Band, to name a few

The Tiki Collective

The Tiki Collective are a large ensemble of friends who perform jazz, pop and exotica music. Their debut CD "MUSE" is released on Vesuvius Music. The band has appeared in renowned Toronto venues such as Lula Lounge and The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern as well as numerous jazz festivals and special events in Ontario. The band is led by guitarist and arranger Eric St-Laurent.
