As a jazz pianist, Amy Rempel is developing a reputation as a significant, emerging talent. Winner of a Downbeat Magazine Student Music Award, the Indiana University Jacobs Scholarship, two Manitoba Young Women of Note jazz soloist competitions, and the Jimmy King Memorial and Asper jazz scholarships, Amy has been invited to the Ravinia Festival Jazz Program in Chicago and has performed with David Baker's Indiana University Jazz Orchestra, the Memphis Jazz Orchestra and the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra. She was selected as the first alternate pianist in the 2006 and 2007 Sisters in Jazz Collegiate competition, and also received the University of Memphis, Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music Presser Award, acknowledging her as the top senior music student
