AAGE TANGGAARD Born 1957. Studied with a.o. Ed Thigpen and Michael Carvin. Played from mid-seventies and onward with numerous danish groups and visiting American soloists. From late seventies very active free-lance musician in radio-TV- and recording studios, but also as a member of The Danish Radiojazzgroup, Ernie Wilkins Almost Big Band, Thomas Clausen Trio with Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, Palle Mikkelborg’s Entrance, Svend Asmussen Quartet, Arne Domnerus groups and NDR Big Band in Hamburg. Has toured all over Europe and extensively in Japan as a member of Duke Jordan Trio. As one of the more prominent danish drummers, Tanggaard has played with a.o
