La quarantenne sassofonista messinese Maria Merlino e il cinquantottenne pianista californiano (di Palo Alto) Thollem McDonas (in realtà artista assolutamente vorace e multiforme, venendo descritto anche come "cantautore, interprete itinerante, educatore musicale e critico sociale, spaziando dal jazz classico al free, dallo sperimentalismo tout court al punk rock") confezionano in coppia questo album di libera improvvisazione, inciso a Palermo nel novembre 2023 con la produzione di Curva Minore.

Tracciati tutto sommato piuttosto prudenti, stante il contesto, vi si giustappongono a più o meno episodici segmenti più arditi, antigraziosi, come accade per esempio in alcuni passaggi di brani quali "The Future Has Just Passed" e "Rivelarsi," ottenendo risultati comunque convincenti, malgrado qualche frangente in cui si tenda magari a perdere lievemente la bussola.

Di dischi così se ne ascoltano ormai parecchi, più o meno lucidi, strutturalmente e formalmente congrui: questo possiede in ogni suo momento il diritto di entrare nel novero con assoluta dignità.
