All About Jazz was part of the 2012 APAP JazzConnect track and participated in the "Platforms That Move Jazz Forward" session. One clear takeaway for me was learning that some publicists don't fully understand how to use All About Jazz to positively impact a client's promotional campaign. I also learned that some publicists are unfamiliar with our services, while yet others greatly underestimate our reach.

This handy how-to guide should clarify All About Jazz's value, while giving a publicist a snapshot of our promotional assets and how our platform (the most advanced in the field of online jazz) can serve you and your clients.

All About Jazz's reach and relevance makes it the top jazz music website in the world, and leveraging it for your client's campaign is good business.

All About Jazz Coverage: Depth and Breadth

We provide coverage across all genres of jazz and maintain a balance of coverage from breaking players and artists deserving greater recognition to established stars.

Establishing a Presence at All About Jazz

1. Point them to our Musician Dashboard. This page includes convenient links to every DIY (Do It Yourself) submission form, as well as links to other important promotional opportunities.

2. Post your client's press release direct to the News Center or allow us to read your RSS news feed. All About Jazz's Google ranking will ensure your announcement places high on a search. You also have the option to include a retail link in your announcement and drive online sales. And if you enter a zip code, your announcement will appear on a member's local news page.

3. Take advantage of our suite of free promotional opportunities (accessible from the Musician Dashboard) and encourage your clients to complete the following:

Create/update his/her musician profile (with new bio and new release information, social links, etc.);

Add performance dates to our calendar (learn about our event aggregation/syndicate technology);

Upload new publicity photos to our gallery;

Submit a full length MP3 for "download of the day" consideration;

Submit a video for "video of the day" consideration;

Submit a dozen "Take Five With..." answers. The questions and answers will be published as an article, featured on our home page and integrated with your client's musician profile;

Contact fans through your client's musician profile alerting them to a new release or important performance dates. All About Jazz will email your announcement to your client's fans; we will also post the announcement as a private message (accessible at the top of every page);

Add new album release information to our Albums section.

Editorial Coverage Consideration

For interview and album review opportunities, please see our toolkit page.

The All About Jazz platform aggregates, integrates and syndicates information submitted to our website—and that includes every piece of information above.

So, make All About Jazz a part of your promotional strategy and allow us to help you improve your client's online presence and relevancy.

If you have any questions about our services, please contact me direct.

Best,

Michael Ricci
