Pat Martino: 1944-2021
Guitarist Pat Martino passed away yesterday. He was 77.
I had the pleasure of meeting Pat several times over the years and we emailed regularly back in the day when he was one of the resident experts on the All About Jazz bulletin board. Pat was generous with his time and was there for anyone with a question, dispensing words of wisdom about music and life.
As I always do when a prominent musician passes, I check our article archive (from 1995-2003) to see if we had any interviews that weren't republished after our crashturns out we had two; both from 2000. A search revealed we had interviewed Pat six times along with a related interview with prominent British neuropsychologist Paul Broks. We've included them below for your convenience.
