EMERGING JAZZ PIANIST RELEASES NEW EP
ATLANTA—Smooth jazz pianist, Xavier Gordon, is releasing his first smooth jazz EP Just For You in Atlanta on September 1, 2011. The seven track recording preludes his next project, an LP to be released the beginning of 2012, featuring acclaimed musicians Lil John Roberts, Anthony Lockett and Jerry Livingston to name a few.
Gordon released his first album at the age of 19, a Christmas EP, My Music Gave to Me. This was followed a year later with a full holiday release appropriately titled, The Gift. It seems now he is focused on creating music catered not exclusively to smooth jazz fans of all generations but to everyone. The fast tempo single, “Just For You," encompasses his message to listeners with a strong melody, instrumentation and leading piano. He uses this EP to connect to listeners of every genre. “Dear My Love" is a musical letter that encompasses reggae and smooth jazz, followed by “The One" that embodies the essence of a classic rhythm and blues composition.
Xavier Gordon is quickly gaining the attention of many throughout the jazz music scene. Shows are planned as early as September and the duration of fall 2011.
