Jazz vocalist PJ Parker has been nominated for the Hollywood Music In Media Awards in the Jazz category for her original song, “Love’s a Logistical Thing.”

The song is one of three original compositions from Parker’s latest CD, “Dreams Are Meant For Two.”

According to the event’s Web site, “The Hollywood Music in Media Awards recognizes and honors the music of visual mediums, the talented individuals responsible, and the music of independent artists from around the globe.”

The HMMA will be presented in conjunction with the Music in Media Interactive Conference on Thursday, November 19th, 2009 at The Highlands in the world famous Kodak Theater complex in Hollywood, CA. This red-carpet event features live performances, award presentations, a VIP reception and banquet. There will be eight live performances during the awards show featuring nominees and special guest appearances.

The HMMA will be shot and post-edited for a televised broadcast in 18 countries and U.S. territories reaching an estimated 120 million households.

“Dreams,” Parker’s third release, has received airplay and critical praise from around the world. France’s Jazz Hot magazine called it “a sincere jazz, beautifully sung, well-accompanied … classic jazz.” The CD was also included in JazzPolice.com's “Favorite Recordings of 2008: Vocaluminaries" list. In including “Dreams" on the list, JazzPolice called PJ's performance “magic."

About “Love’s a Logistical Thing,” JazzReview.com’s Larry Taylor comments, “The catchy lyrics and charming, lightly swinging vocal are a pleasure.”

The world’s jazz fans continue to let their preferences be known: PJ's artist profile page at AllAboutJazz.com - the largest and most popular jazz Web site in the world - is now the 7th most popular among living jazz artists, and 15th among all jazz artists profiled on the site.

Among living musicians, that ranking puts Parker in the company of jazz greats such as Roy Hargrove, Keith Jarrett and Wynton Marsalis.

“Dreams Are Meant For Two" is a heartfelt collection of 12 jazz classics and three of PJ's originals: “So What Do You Say?", “Love's A Logistical Thing,” and the title track, “Dreams Are Meant For Two.”

Joining PJ on this recording are the stellar musicians Vinnie Ruggieri on piano, Earl Sauls on bass, Tim Horner on drums, Joel Frahm on sax and Coleman Mellett on guitar.
