The Oslo Jazz Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and having confirmed Humcrush/Sidsel Endresen, Fredrik Kronkvist Quartet and Desafindao, the anniversary program is complete. The festival is also proud to announce this year's Young Star and Showcase bands.

Keyboardist Ståle Storløkken (Supersilent) and drummer Thomas Strønen (Food) are Humcrush. As a duo Storløkken and Strønen collaborate on a fascinating level, and their music both exists within and over the gap between analog and digital sound. Singer Sidsel Endresen is the duo's definitive dream partner, and the session at this year's jazz fest in Oslo promises to be a unique occasion.

Sweden's Fredrik Kronkvist is one of the most characteristic saxophonists on the international jazz scene. He is known for his powerful virtuous style with a constant flow of ideas. Some of Scandinavia's finest jazz musicians join Kronkvist for this concert at the Oslo Jazz Festival.

Desafinado celebrate 25 years with Brazil as a means and joy as an end. At the Oslo Jazz Festival 2011 the audience will have the opportunity to once again hear the original line-up with Tom S Lund, Morten Halle, Celio de Carvalho and Anne-Marie Giørtz together with Sveinung Hovensjø and Kenneth Ekornes.

Three young bands from Oslo, The Real Time, Rapjazz and Sham Jazz, have been selected for this year's Young Star, and six bands from all over Norway will take part in this year's Showcase: Gibs Quartet, Krokofant, Rugged Wilderness & Mountain Man No More, Sagstuen, Eat my Cake and Doffs Poi. All the concerts will take place on the festival's open-air free stage at Egertorget.

The Oslo Jazz Festival 2011 takes place from 15th to 20th August. The festival will present 72 concerts at 18 different venues, and some of the artists previously confirmed are: Liberation Music Orchestra, Lizz Wright, Allen Toussaint, Karin Krog/Bengt Hallberg, Bugge Wesseltoft/Erik Truffaz/Ilhan Ersahin/Joe Claussell, Kenny Garrett Quartet, Susanne Sundfør, Nils Petter Molvaer, Mathias Eick Quintet and Lill Lindfors.
