- According to this interview, A2IM CEO Rich Bengloff hates the misuse of the DMCA in Viacom's case against YouTube. Bengloff and his partners will be filing amicus briefs protesting the recent summary judgment that favored YouTube. People love to talk about how it's just the four major labels who are complaining about YouTube, but A2IM, which represents a sizable portion of the indie universe that accounts for 90% of the music released, and 38% of all digital sales, isn't amused either.
- Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino spoke to the Los Angeles Times about some of the problems besetting his industry last week, and one of his chief observations was that promoters have lost their ability to creatively serve concertgoers. His primary example? Toilets that let women pee standing up.
