Tour in support of the band's I WENT HUNGRY Charity with over 150,000 people fed to date
Legendary reggae group THE WAILERS continue their sold-out “Exodus Tour," with more dates in the US. The shows will feature a full performance of the classic 1977 EXODUS album and will highlight songs like “Jamming," “Waiting in Vain," “Natural Mystic" and “One Love/People Get Ready. The album was the ninth studio album recorded by Bob Marley and the Wailers in London in 1977 while Marley recovered from an assassination attempt in Jamaica. The release of the album propelled the band to international stardom. Exodus was named “Album of the Century" by TIME Magazine, and includes the anthem “One Love," deemed “Song of the Millennium" by the BBC.
The Wailers will be using the tour to bring more attention to their I Went Hungry Campaign which donates unused funds from the band's hospitality riders directly to the United Nation's World Food Program. To date, the charity has already fed over 650,000 people.
Formed in the late 1960s in Jamaica, the Wailers have gone on to become the world's most popular and well-known reggae group of all time, selling 250 million albums and playing to an estimated 24 million people worldwide. The group is now led by bassist and musical director Aston “FamilyMan" Barrett, the group's sole surviving founder and driving musical force, who was well known as Bob Marley's right hand-man during the singer's lifetime. The group continues to tour around the world year after year, spreading their undeniable message of peace, understanding and defiance.
