RealNetworks Gives iTunes A 'Rinse'

RealNetworks, once a dominate player in music, is still trying to find it's place in a post-iTunes world.  It's latest offering Rinse, doesn't even try to compete, but rather aknowledges Apple's dominance with a utility to organize your iTunes library: add missing album art, fix misspellings, remove duplicates, rename genres and more.

“Rinse is powered by an intelligent online database which means it can fix songs without making you type in the new information."  We'll be testing Ronse and other similar applications over the next few weeks.  As Peter Kafka of MediaMemo pointed out, with Apple and others moving to the cloud a clean (and identifiable) music collection becomes more essential.
