His [Antonio Cece] guitar sound is clear and touching, can be laid back and relaxing, or powerful grooving, but always telling us a story… and Fazzari and De Santo back him up and push him when necessary. Surprising and highly recommended debut album.

Aleph Trio
Promenade the first album of the Neapolitan trio Aleph Trio is out now.

The video is entirely made by the visual artist Ludovica Bastianini, recognized in Italy and abroad for her photographic research. Photography is in fact the privileged means of narration of this animated short. Alternating hand-painted and digital photographs, photographs taken ad hoc and ready made photographs taken from the personal archives of the musicians, in an ironic and surrealist way, “Promenade" speaks to us of an experience common to many of our young people and not only: the experience of emigration, of traveling in search of someone or something, of getting lost in other cultures and countries, even of the attempt to homologate, and then, at times, to return to one's hometown, with a new awareness, and find oneself again, recognize each other.

About Aleph Trio

The Aleph is the first letter of the Phoenician alphabet and the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. It has alpha as its Greek correspondent, and the Latin A also originated from this letter.

Aleph is the symbol of unity, of principle, and therefore of power, continuity, stability, equanimity. It is also the spiritual center from which thought radiates, establishing a link between the higher and lower worlds.

The musical show of the trio is based on unpublished compositions by guitarist Antonio Cece, elaborated and synergistically interpreted by the rhythm section Fazzari, De Santo. Versatile and eclectic trio that moves in sound spaces with firm steps, well directed by an interplay consolidated by years of collaborations between live projects and recordings. Promenade was conceived as the story of a traveler who curiously explores the link and effort between the act of leaving and returning.

Promenade is a walk through landscapes that each of us could carry inside. It started as usual: looking for something or someone. And it ends like other stories: returning home, with an acquired awareness. The three Neapolitans musicians direct their energies in music towards a search for an improvised language steeped in jazz, classical music, rock, minimal, electronic, and colors belonging to their musical roots. The tracks of Promenade are interpreted with a poetic of storytelling, that refers to descriptive instrumental music and a narrative with wide scenarios and dreamscapes.

Aleph Trio has been one of the finalists bands to Fara Jazz Festival 2020.
