Somerset, New Jersey – Critical acclaim for PJ Parker’s third CD continues to come in, with the inclusion of Dreams Are Meant For Two in JazzPolice.com’s “Favorite Recordings of 2008: Vocaluminaries.”

In including “Dreams” on the list, JazzPolice.com’s (www.jazzpolice.com) Andrea Canter called PJ’s performance “magic.”

“With Dreams Are Meant for Two, PJ Parker has issued a definitive statement of intent—to challenge the heart, to unlock memories, to reinvent the familiar, to entertain. And to do so on her own terms, with her own voice,” Canter writes.

And Jazz fans agree. One of PJ’s three compositions written for the CD, “So What Do You Say,” has for the past month been been the top free MP3 download on All About Jazz, the most widely-read jazz website in the world, receiving nearly two million hits a month.

Parker’s artist profile has climbed to No. 9 in All About Jazz’s rankings of living artist profiles, and reached No. 22 among all profiles.

However, Parker's recent success has been bittersweet. Guitarist Coleman Mellett, Parker's guitarist on Dreams Are Meant for Two, lost his life in the Continental Express plane crash outside of Buffalo, New York on Thursday, February 12 2009. A personal tribute to Mellett appears on Parker's website.
