Jazz Bridge in Cheltenham PA presents bassist Ed Wise and his New Orleans Jazz Band at the Cheltenham Center for the Arts, 439 Ashbourne Road in Cheltenham, on Wednesday January 2nd. Tickets are $10, $5 for students, and are available only at the door. Show time is 7:30.

Bassist Ed Wise, a native of Houston, Texas, has been playing jazz professionally since he was 17 years old. With a master's degree from the renowned University of North Texas, he's played with dozens of legendary jazz performers through the years, including Red Garland, J.J. Johnson, Al Hirt, Monty Alexander, Harry "Sweets" Edison and Lee Konitz. He moved to New Orleans in 1993, and during that time eventually founded his New Orleans Jazz Band, an ensemble devoted to playing innovative arrangements of traditional New Orleans jazz compositions.
