St. Paul, MN - The fourth installment of the Minnesota sur Seine music festival is coming to various Twin Cities locations from May 15 through May 25, 2008.
The 2008 lineup features collaborations between Twin Cities and international musicians performing improvisational jazz, Celtic, hip hop, World Music, spoken word, rock and more. Minnesota sur Seine, which debuted in the Fall of 2004, has grown in scope from its Twin Cities-meets-Paris jazz beginnings to become a sweeping showcase of musical styles from around the world. Tickets for many of the individual shows are on sale now and are available through surseine.org. A festival pass for all of the performances is available for $100. Purchasers who are ages 18 to 21 can purchase a festival pass for $50 and purchasers under the age of 18 can purchase a $30 pass to attend all of the all ages shows. Festival passes are available through the Festival website and at the Black Dog Caf (308 Prince St., Saint Paul).

- A celebration of Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca, featuring traditional Spanish song arranged by Tony Hymas, a reading of Lorca's poetry by Violeta Ferrer, and flamenco music (May 16);
- Top of the Pops with Viv Corringham-Peter Cusack duo, Mystery Palace, and Noel Akchote (May 17);
- A night of Old and New World roots with Jacky Molard Quartet and Roma di Luna (May 18);
- Hip Hop night with controversial French hip hop group, La Rumeur, playing with Ursus Minor (May 22);
- A night in Ethiopia with the legendary Mahmoud Ahmed and his ensemble(May 24);
- Two St. Paul Music Crawls (May 24 and 25, afternoons) featuring multiple performances within walking distance in Lowertown.
