Psychedelic funk veterans Lettuce have announced a re-release of their longtime-cherished album Live in Tokyo available via Lettuce Records on September 13th in celebration of the album’s 20th anniversary. The formative album will be released on vinyl for the first time ever and has been remastered for an enhanced audio experience. Pre-save/pre-order Live in Tokyo (Remastered) HERE. Forged out of their studies at Berklee College of Music, Lettuce was fresh into the touring circuit eagerly presenting their growing catalog of original music with the lineup of Erick “Jesus” Coomes on bass, Adam Smirnoff on guitar, Ryan Zoidis on tenor saxophone, Adam Deitch on drums, Neal Evans on organ & electric piano, Rashawn Ross on trumpet, and Sam Kininger on alto saxophone. The pivotal performance set the stage for zealous performances with airtight transitions, energetic improvisation, and a locked-in pocket Lettuce fans around the world have come to know and love.

On their first foray into Tokyo and crossing off a destination on their bucket list, Adam Deitch reflects into the excitement surrounding the performances at The Blue Note in Tokyo, “What a trip it was—we got to Japan somehow as best buds from college. We were kids in our early 20s having the time of our lives and excited to play with Neal Evans and Rashawn Ross of Soulive. I also had to cover for Chris Dave in MeShell NdegeOcello's band for multiple sets a night! It was such a great experience.”

During the multi-night run in Tokyo, the band’s longtime friend and collaborator Jason Pinsky (VICE, Bong Appetit) was in town and able to record the performances and later produce the record. For the upcoming remastered edition, Lettuce worked with mastering engineer Alex DeTurk at Bunker Studios. Ryan Zoidis elaborates on their long standing working relationship and what to expect for enhanced audio quality, “Alex DeTurk at Bunker Studios has been mastering our records for a while. He uses an old school analog signal path and has incredible ears and intuition. With Live in Tokyo, he really opened up the mixes and unlocked the nuances and the dynamics of the show. It feels like a brand new record!”

Live in Tokyo (Remastered) will include two bonus tracks on digital platforms– alternate versions of “The Dump” and “Reunion” that were not on the original release.
