For his first album in seven years, Chuco Valdés returns to the group format, expanding his longstanding quartet to an even more powerful septet. The legendary Cuban pianist and founding member of Irakere has been touring the world in support of Chucho's Steps (World Village, 2010), and will welcome Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra to Cuba next month, where Valdés will premiere a new version of Misa Negra, with new trumpet parts written especially for Marsalis.

To celebrate the release of Chucho's Steps, All About Jazz is featuring a bounty of multi-lingual features. For the first time, you can choose to read AAJ's coverage in English or Spanish:

Read All About Jazz Contributor Joan A. Cararach's in-depth interview with Valdés, either in its native Spanish (Chucho Valdés, música sin fin), or in English (Chucho Valdes: The Music Never Ends), courtesy of Manel Vanaclocha's translation;

Read All About Jazz Senior Editor Chris May's insightful CD review of Chucho's Steps, either in its native English, or in Spanish, again thanks to translator Manel Vanaclocha;
