Santa Monica-based public radio station KCRW-FM (89.9) has tapped Jason Bentley as music director. Bentley, a longtime DJ at the station, will replace Nic Harcourt, who announced last week that he would be stepping down at the end of the month.
Bentley will step in as the host of KCRW's flagship music program, Morning Becomes Eclectic, on Dec. 1. In addition to having hosted the station's electronic-focused program Metropolis, Bentley has served as a music supervisor (The Matrix) and has held multiple posts in the music business, including co-founding the dance-driven Quango Music Group.
Bentley, according to a KCRW spokesperson, will host only Morning Becomes Eclectic. More scheduling changes are to be announced soon.
