Jazz Journalists Association Top Ten Lists

Lists of the Top Ten jazz albums of the year 2006, as selected by 34 notable U.S. and Canadian jazz journalists, will remain on special view through February at the website of the Jazz Journalists Association (JJA). The JJA, an international non- profit organization of writers, broadcasters, photographers and new media professionals, focuses attention on the Best of 2006 with this annual feature of Jazzhouse, reflecting a variety of tastes and genre-preferences, with one point in common: all celebrate musical creativity and excellence.

The Jazz Journalists Association, an international organization representing writers, photographers, broadcasters and new media professionals dealing principally with jazz and related musics, is the 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit that has produced The Jazz Awards, hailing excellence in music, music journalism and jazz advocacy, since 1996. The JJA also produces Jazz Matters panel discussions at major festivals and jazz education centers, publishes the quarterly journal Jazz Notes and initiates other projects promoting the interests of journalists covering jazz.
