Groove to local blues legends and shake your moneymaker for one last summertime blast at the third annual BLUES FOR FOOD FEST, Saturday, Sept 5, 2009 at Magnuson Park Amphitheatre & P-Patch

Proceeds support P-Patch Trust

What: A picture-perfect day at one of the most beautiful gardens in Seattle. Blues For Food Fest is an allages event featuring some of the finest blues bands in the Northwest. P-Patch Pie Queens will tempt your taste buds with a homemade pie auction. Lots of fun and games for kids in the childrens garden. Free Zydeco dance lessons with Marylee Lykes. BBQ by Smokin Pete's BBQ (recently voted one of the best in the West). Glean your garden, raid your cupboards: the “Beet Hunger" booth will collect fresh produce and canned goods for local food banks. It's an alcohol-free, all-ages event.

1:30-2:30: Billy Roy Danger & The Rectifiers
2:30-3:00: Free Zydeco dance lessons by Marylee Lykes
3:00-4:00: Ken Pickard & Zydeco Explosion
4:30-5:30: David Brewer & The Intimidators
6:00-7:00: Patti Allen / Kathi MacDonald All Star Band

Where: Magnuson Park P-Patch and Amphitheater, 7400 Sand Point Way N.E., Seattle WA 98115

Bike or bus if you can, but if youre driving, there's LOTS of free parking!

Why: Seattle's P-Patch giving gardens, community farms and community fruit tree harvests donate more than 20 tons of fresh organic produce every year to local food banks, meals-on-wheels programs, transitional housing, and shelters for women and children. This year Blues for Food Fest is collaborating with Jams for Cans and the Washington Blues Society. Proceeds from the event will benefit the P-Patch Trust, local food banks and the Musicians Relief Fund.
