Red Carpet Productions and All About Jazz Media Partner on 2027 Artist Residency Grant Program

Beginning in 2027, four musicians each year will receive a funded residency at Red Carpet’s residential recording studio in Mallorca, with the freedom to create on their own terms.
Red Carpet Productions, S.L., a residential recording studio and cultural center for music creation in Mallorca, Spain, and All About Jazz Media, a new initiative of All About Jazz, the global jazz platform connecting musicians, audiences, and the wider jazz community, today announced a collaboration to launch an artist residency grant program for musicians.
The program is designed to award four competitive, merit-based grants each year through application, one in each quarter. Each quarter is dedicated to a different career-stage group, from artists early in their careers through those with decades of work behind them, so every applicant is considered alongside peers at a comparable stage rather than against the full field. The aim is a level playing field, with fair consideration for everyone who applies. The definitions of the four groups will be published with the full program details. The grants are intended to continue annually, with room to grow as the program develops.
As planned, selected recipients will receive a grant-funded residency of seven to ten days at Red Carpet’s studio in Mallorca. The residency is self-directed: artists shape their own time through focused studio work, composition, and creative experimentation. Artists retain ownership of anything they create.
The collaboration rests on mutual benefit, with each part of the process bringing something of value. The grant gives an artist a week or more in a professional studio. Red Carpet’s facility is used for the purpose it was created for, and All About Jazz Media continues its advocacy for musicians. The program is structured to sustain itself over time.
This announcement introduces the program. Applications are expected to open in 2027, and full program details, including eligibility criteria, the application process and fee, what the grant covers, and the terms for recipients, will be published on both partners’ websites before then.
Red Carpet is dedicated to giving musicians the conditions that serious creative work requires: professional tools, uninterrupted time, and a setting free from everyday distraction. Set in the beautiful countryside of the island’s interior, it welcomes artists and organizations from around the world and supports work that contributes to the musical and cultural life of Mallorca and beyond.
All About Jazz Media builds on this foundation by developing partnerships, creative initiatives, and collaborative projects that benefit the jazz community. Its mission is to extend the reach and impact of All About Jazz beyond its digital platform, creating new opportunities for artists and organizations while strengthening the jazz ecosystem.
