Improvisation with a purpose is the main philosophy behind the infinite ensemble. With musical concepts ranging from jazz to hip-hop to avant-garde classical the compositional terrain is varied but the improvisational unity and the deep, complex pocket grooves gives the sound focus and direction.. The first studio album, described as ‘a tour de force of dark, dense new fusion’, was released January 2010 and is currently available on itunes, cdbaby and amazon.

The Infinite Ensemble's first studio album is a collection of the original compositions and free improvisation that gives the group its backbone. The group consists of Dave Fox (drums), Sven Larson (bass), Alfred Marra (vibraphone and glockenspiel), Patrick Osborne (tenor saxophone), Jeremy Quick (guitar and effects) and Josh Rosen (keyboards and effects).
