Patrina Morris

I have always been a guitar and voice kind of girl, however my musical journey has taken me into all aspects of music and in doing so , I have evolved into what I am today... I was brought up in Southgate, North London and born to Anglo-Indian parents, so I have been lucky enough to know two cultures and the most amazing food! As a teenager I was was spotted by a model agent while working in a restaurant to pay for Art School. Soon I was travelling the world and living in Paris, Milan, Tokyo and New York and making my way in the world of fashion working for some of the most prestigious clients and appearing in Italian and German editions of Vogue, French Elle and Marie Claire. Music has always been my first love and after a few years I decided to make a change and began working in the music industry as a singer, songwriter and co- writer.

My projects were varied, and early on I was fortunate enough to work with well known talents such as Paul Oakenfold, Talvin Singh, Rob Davis, Andrew Hale (Sade) and Jon Klein ( Siouxsie and the Banshees). It wasn't until later, when I moved to Southern Portugal and learned to play guitar that I found my voice. After some success on Myspace, my debut EP entitled "Stories I never told you" was released in the summer of 2008.. It was an easy introduction to my sound which has been described as sultry and reminiscent of the early beach samba sound of Brazil in the 70's combined with singer/ songwriter inflections... I prefer to call it a "hybrid" of all I love... Soon after the release I signed a licensing deal with EMI / Universal Japan to make my first album "Lies fall away" which was followed by a third EP "Even in the End" and a Digital distribution deal with Red Digital Sony NYC.

Last year, I began working on a new album , which is a little more upbeat, inspired by Astrud Gilberto, Brasil 66 and the masters of Bossa Nova. I am happy to be working with a wonderful eclectic team who I happy to say, all discovered me on Facebook... Mr Brian Jackson (Gil Scott Heron, Roy Ayers, Stevie Wonder), Octavio Pimenta da Sousa (Ricky Martins, Mark Anthony) and Jon Klein (Sousxie and the Banshees, Sinead O'Conner) A single entitled "Breaking all the rules" was released at the end of last year and a dance remix of "Up so Close" another from the album and a duet with the legendary Mr Brian Jackson was made for Ibiza last August as a free download and introduction to another genre for the clubs. Since my last EP ... I decided to take some time out to write, as since the "Myspace days" I feel I have evolved so much as a person and musically. As well as working on my album I have also been working on a couple of film projects as well as working as a lyricist on other genres of music.

“Every once in awhile a music artist emerges from time’s benevolence to remind us of the elemental life treasures we take for granted. Water to cleanse and replenish. Oxygen to revitalize. And the fragile harmony that lives within each of us, begging to restore internal balance but constantly challenged by fears and chaos.” Roy Greer - pamper her friday Patrina Morris: The heady rise of a Romantic. Listening to the heady melodic aura of Patrina Morris is like succumbing oneself to a double scooping of caramel velvet cake, except without the calories. It was perhaps a random listening to her pop samba rhythms that had me beguiled and searching within myself for my own sense of loss, heartbreak, contemplation and bitter sweet feelings
