Costanza Alegiani is an Italian singer, improviser and composer,
With her Trio 'Costanza Alegiani Folkways', with Marcello Allulli and Riccardo Gola, she recorded the albums Lucio dove vai? in 2023 ( with Antonello Salis and Francesco Diodati as guest) and Folkways in 2021( with Fabrizio Sferra and Francesco Diodati as guests), both produced by the Fondazione Musica per Roma.
With her Trio she has performed in many festivals and events including: Canzoni&Parole Festival at the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris, Koln and Munich, MASI Museum in Lugano, Skopje JaZzIT! Festival, JAZZMI, Summertime Festival Casa del Jazz, Bari in Jazz,Torino Jazz Festival, Novara Jazz, Open Jazz Teatro Verdi Pordenone, Crossroads Jazz Festival Emilia Romagna, La grande Notte del Jazz, Grande Brixia for Fondazione Teatro Grande di Brescia, live concerts and projects for the national Rai Radio3 such us a tribute concert to the great singer and songwriter Lucio Dalla "Lucio dove vai? Dalla, from the beginnings to Roversi" from which came the album of the same name and a live show with Valerio Corzani as narrator.
In 2025 she made up a new trio project on Carla Bley’s music, The girl who cried champagne, with the pianist Fabrizio Puglisi and trombonist Matteo Paggi.
Together with the singer and actor Peppe Servillo, she is leader of the orchestral project “Di cosa vive l'uomo: le canzoni di Kurt Weill e Bertolt Brecht” which had its debut with the Jazz Orchestra della Sardegna in 2021. They performed at some of the most prestigious festival and venues in Italy, such us Casa del Jazz and Aula Magna La Sapienza University in Rome, Palermo with The Brass Group, Matera, Teatro dei Rozzi within the Accademia Chigiana's Micat Festival in Siena, and soon at LAC in Lugano.
She has made two radio series for Radio Svizzera Italiana (RSI), for the radio broadcast Arpeggi, edited by Sergio Albertoni. The first one September songs: a century of voices for Kurt Weil (march 2025) and the second one "Girl from the north country: places and stories of American folk music" soon to be released (fall 2025).
She worked as lead vocalist and performer in several production such as: "Vento d'estate" (2024) of the Bari Metropolitan City Symphony Orchestra. From 2018 to 2020 she was the lead vocalist, together with Camilla Battaglia, of the Orchestra Nazionale Jazz Giovani Talenti directed by Paolo Damiani, with whom she recorded the album Oscene Rivolte. She did the vocal performance April 25th 2022 by artist Ra di Martino (MAXXI Museum in Rome); she was soloist in the theatrical show La Buona Novella for RomaEuropaFestival with Mario Brunello, Stefano Benni, directed by Roberta Lena. She made an artist residency and concerts with Theo Ceccaldi, Fabrizio Sferra, Roberto Negro, Carmelo Coglitore and Gabriele Evangelista for the Festival Una striscia di terra feconda She was co-leader of the project and record Grace in Town (2018-2019) written four hands with the jazz drummer Fabrizio Sferra, produced by Fondazione Musica per Roma. She made the album Janis (tribute to Janis Joplin) for the Jazz Italiano Live Series (2016) of the Editoriale L'Espresso di Repubblica group, in collaboration with the Casa del Jazz.
