Joyce Spencer is a distinguished saxophonist, flutist, and vocalist originating from Dallas, Texas, whose musical journey reflects a rich tapestry of influences and genres. With a versatile repertoire that spans traditional and contemporary jazz, classical, R&B, funk, fusion, blues, pop, and Gospel/Christian music, Joyce's artistry is a testament to her diverse musical upbringing. This extensive background has not only enhanced her performance capabilities but has also fortified her skills in music composition, allowing her to create engaging and memorable musical experiences.

With mastery over the soprano, alto, and tenor saxophones, as well as the flute and her vocal talents, Joyce captivates audiences with her ability to transition seamlessly between lively tunes, smooth jazz, and heartfelt ballads. Her performances have graced numerous venues, including music festivals, concerts, church gatherings, and corporate events across the United States, where she has had the privilege of collaborating with notable acts such as Yarbrough & Peoples, i.Tina (Tina Turner Tribute Band), Satin Dolls, Jazz in Pink, and her band, Joyce Spencer & Expressions which includes her Sade Tribute Show.



Joyce’s academic background is equally impressive; she holds a bachelor's degree in instrumental music education, having specialized in saxophone and flute, with additional focus on classical and jazz music, theater, and radio and television broadcasting. After a successful two-decade career in the corporate sector, Joyce made a passionate return to her musical roots as an independent artist. She independently composed and produced her debut album, "Sweet Dreams," which set the stage for her subsequent projects, including "Many Colors," "It's Christmas Time," "Hidden Treasures," and the single "Solace." Her music has gained significant traction and is now broadcast on radio stations around the globe.

Joyce's contributions to the music industry have been recognized through a myriad of accolades and honors. She received the GHP Radio Music Award for Best Groove Sax and the NAACP Music Award in Garland, TX, in addition to being named Black Women in Jazz Saxophonist of the Year. Her musical prowess has also led to her being featured as Sound Fusion Radio's Song of the Week and ranking in Sassy Radio's Top 20, as well as being listed in the Radio Indie Alliance's Top 10. Many of her works have achieved recognition on the SmoothJazz.com Top 30 and have garnered Grammy consideration for a collaboration with David McLorren. Moreover, her music has enjoyed placements in the WSRN-DB Jazz Oasis Top 10, as well as being recognized as Artist of the Week on several occasions by the Radio Indie International Network.
