Fabrizio Bosso

Fabrizio Bosso started playing the trumpet at the age of 5. At the age of 15 he graduated in the conservatory “Giuseppe Verdi” of Turin. In 1999 he won the “Top Jazz” award (a referendum promoted by the magazine ‘ Musica Jazz’ ) for the best new talent. In 2000 he published his first record: Fast Light. In 2002 the first record of the HIGH FIVE, Jazz For More, came out and many others followed it for the prestigious record label Blue Note. With the HIGH FIVE he also recorded Handful Of Souls, which led Mario Biondi to success. Featuring once again the HIGH FIVE he played for the first time with his own side project at the Blue Note of Tokyo, where he often returned conquering a broad and passionate audience. Since the beginning of his career, Fabrizio boasts important collaboration such as, among the others, Gianni Basso, Enrico Pieranunzi, Rosario Giuliani, Charlie Haden, Carla Bley. In 2007, with Blue Note, he released one of his most important records, You’ve Changed, featuring his quartet and a 13 strings orchestra, masterly arranged by Paolo Silvestri, with some important guests such as Stefano Di Battista, Bebo Ferra, Dianne Reeves and Sergio Cammariere. To this last one he owes his entrance in the pop’ s world and his first appearance to the Sanremo Music Festival. Once again, with Blue Note, he released together with Javier Girotto the first record with his side project since 2006, the sextet Latin MOOD, Sol. In 2012, followed the album Vamos, recorded with Schema Records. After 10 years, featuring Antonello Salis, he won another Top Jazz award with the record Stunt, released by Parco Della Musica Records, in 2009. In 2010,after winning another award but this time for the best trumpeter, he released Spiritual, featuring Alberto Marsico and Alessandro Minetto. In 2013, they will join him in his second work, Purple, for the label Verve/Universal. In 2011 another turning point, the recording of the albumEnchantment – Nino Rota’s enchantment, with the London Symnphony Orchestra and rhythmic by Claudio Filippini, Rosario Bonaccorso and Lorenzo Tucci, arranged and directed by Stefano Fonzi. A year later, the album Face To Face came out, featuring Luciano Biondini, for Abeat Record. In the meanwhile, he participated in many important Festivals in Italy (Umbria Jazz Festival, Vicenza Jazz Festival, Rome Jazz Festival) and abroad. He also boasts many crossover projects (such as “Uomini in Frac”,1dedicated to Domenico Modugno and “Memorie di Adriano”2, dedicated to Celentano’ s collection), and interdisciplinary projects like the live soundtrack edited by the masterpiece film IL SORPASSO by Dino Risi, with Luca Mannutza, Luca Bulgarelli and Lorenzo Tucci, or SHADOWS, a gift to Chet Baker with Julian Oliver Mazzariello playing the piano and Massimo Popolizio as acting voice.
