Alex Sino
Dr. Alex Sino is a 2-time Latin Grammy Award Winner, screenwriter, producer, and lyricist. He has worked with numerous established and emerging artists including Al Di Meola, Leonid Agutin, MC Solaar, Macy Gray, Arturo Sandoval, Rudy Perez, Anthony Jackson, Xavier Naidoo, Till Bronner, Orlando “Maraca” Valle, No Mercy, Jon Secada, Diego Torres, Amaury Gutierrez, Carlos Oliva, Omara Portuondo, Jimmy Rosenberg along with many others.
In his decades-long career, Dr. Alex Sino has created and produced an impressive list of prominent songs, albums, music videos, and movies. Among the more recent highlights are:
Producing the 2-time Latin Grammy-winning album "Made in Miami" featuring Arturo Sandoval, Luis Enrique, Milton Salcedo, Camilo Valencia, and Richard Bravo.
Producing the album "La Vida Cosmopolita," which was featured on Billboard and on Telemundo. His work included producing five music videos to accompany the album: "Quedate" (Lolita Torres), "Funky Cha", Ella", “Sobrevivire” and "Enamorado".
Co-creating and writing lyrics for the "Cosmopolitan Life" album with Al Di Meola and Leonid Agutin that was on the Top Jazz Charts in Europe. His involvement included writing and producing the movies "Cosmopolitan Live" and "Live in Montreux with Al Di Meola.”
Producing and writing lyrics for the album "Vocal Rendezvous with Al Di Meola.” His work included the production of live and recorded TV shows for the Eurovision Award in Berlin, “Italiani nel Mondo” for RAI 1 (Italy), Montreux Jazz Festival, Stuttgart Jazz Festival, Jurmala Music Festival in Latvia, and Sochi Music Festival.
Alex co-produced high profile concerts and albums in Cuba, including producing the full-length documentary “Cosmo Life”, DVD "Havana Calling" at the Piazza Cathedral in Havana. Performers included Omara Portuondo from Buena Vista Social Club, Arturo Sandoval, Leonid Agutin, Pancho Amat, and Orlando “Maraca” Valle. The album, documentary, and DVD "Reencuentros Live at the Grand Theater of Havana," was recorded live at El Gran Teatro de La Habana’s García Lorca Concert Hall.
Alex is the author of two award-winning books, "The Grand Old Man" and "The Music Without Borders,” and has earned numerous accolades and awards including:
Alex holds a Doctorate (PhD) in Public Administration.
Dr. Sino is a Voting Member of the National Academy of Recording Arts (GRAMMYS) and the voting member of the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (Latin Grammys).
