Alessandro Campobasso

Drummer and composer, he graduated in jazz music at the Niccolò Piccinni Conservatory in Bari with full marks. He began studying drums at the age of 16 at the Il Pentagramma music school in Bari and perfected his drumming later studying with American drummers Gregory Hutchinson and Ali Jackson. In the first phase of his career he gained numerous experiences in various musical environments with the Mister Wilson quartet, including the opening of the Quintorigo feat. Maria Pia De Vito (Alterfest 2010), Tuck & Patty (Capurso), Simona Bencini trio (Andriese Music Festival), the Music Italy Show (Bologna) and many others. With the same quartet he made the self- produced album "Ultimi Stadi Giovanili" with which he won the competitions "Musica Dreamers vol.4" and "Hot Muzik selection vol.1" for the inclusion of unreleased songs respectively in the compilations "Hit Mania Champions 2012 ”(Universal Music) and“ Hot Muzik selection vol.1 ”(Sony Music). He played as a sideman on the album produced by Four Records "Between Two Blondes" special guest Renato D’Aiello. With the rock group Dopolavoro Ferroviario he made the music for the short film “The Russian Revolution” produced by the Bari Academy of Cinema. He accompanied as a drummer the masterclass of bassist Massimo Moriconi during the Bari Bass Day at the Music Academy Bari. In 2013 he won the absolute first prize of the Multiculturita Europe Contest held during the Multiculturita Jazz Festival with the Alessandro Campobasso quartet. With the same quartet he is a finalist of the Jimmy Woode European Award held during the Tuscia in Jazz Festival, and, again in the same year, he opens the Peter Bernstein concert during the Triggiano Summer Jazz Festival. In 2014 he recorded his first album as leader and composer "Unconditioned" published by Four Editions (2015) and distributed throughout Italy by Master Music. Unconditioned was also produced and distributed in Japan by Tower Records. The song "Sunshower" from the same disc was selected by Rolling Stones magazine as a finalist for the MyMusicCoffee competition. In June 2022 he released his second album as leader and composer “The Imaginary Roads” for Gleam Records. He is active in the Italian, European and International jazz scene, regularly performing, with stable and unstable projects, in Italy, Spain, Brazil, Denmark, Holland, etc ... He took part in the world tour of the band A New Story To Tell performing among others, at Cafè Mercedes in Valencia, at 5e club in Copenhagen, at De Ruimte in Amsterdam, in Robadores 23, Soda, Sinestesia clubs in Barcelona, at Bottles Bar, Audio Rebel and Calouste Goulbenkian in Rio de Janeiro etc ...
