I love jazz because... Jazz represents change, conversation, culture & community. I was first exposed to jazz as a child in Philadelphia while hearing dad practice jazz on the bagpipe. I met [Terell Stafford]. The best show I ever attended was Terell Stafford & Tim Warfield performing at the Folly theater in Kansas City, Missouri. The first jazz record I bought was the best of Lee Morgan. My advice to new listeners is to be yourself and listen with an open heart to new sounds.
