Le due sorelle

Massimiliano Felice’s track, "Le due sorelle" ("The Two Sisters"), is a touching homage to his hometown and family. He writes, "the story I wanted to tell is the familiar one but universal, linked to the memory of all the people who, at the end of the Second World War, fought to rebuild a country destroyed by fascism and war." The piece features the organetto (a diatonic button accordion) on which he plays a warm ostinato with the left hand and melody/improvisation with the right. Visually, “il musicista” ascends the steps of mountainous Bugnara, Italy, his birthplace, until he reveals images of his mother and aunt and their original home. There’s a dash of jazz in his work, developed from micro-improvisations inherent in Italian folk music, blended with the canonical licks from early/hot jazz, the blues and tango. Hear more of his approach on the album, Therefore I dance (Rox Records, 2026) and lend your attention to the energetic "Suite di bourrée a 2 tempi."
