About the Album

Wabi-sabi is the second studio album by composer Pere Bujosa, composed of 7 of his own compositions. The title of the album is "Wabi-Sabi", a Japanese word that means "beauty in imperfection" in Japanese aesthetics. The conceptual part of this work is a personal reflection on accepting the imperfections of life, accepting their beauty and their natural cycle of growth and degrowth. " The graphic work and the design of the disc have been made by the Mallorcan artist Maria Antònia M. Salvà, following the philosophical line of the disc. For the booklet and cover, they have used "Suminagashis ", a process that involves ink on water and that gives rise to forms that are given in nature. The artwork music has been used to process the water and to shape the illustrations that evoke this beauty that can be found in nature in different fields. The compositions evoke polyrhythmic textures with the intention of making a parallel between the different tensions and distances that cause the different aspects of liquid postmodernity (career, family, work ...) and use different touches of electronics, sampling (can find an interview with sociologist Zygmunt Bauman, author of Liquid Society Theory) and sound collage.
