About the Album
Impressions in Blue and Red is a double CD and the newest release from Alex Goodman, winner of the 2014 Montreux Jazz Festival International Guitar Competition. On “Impressions in Blue and Red”, the New York based jazz guitarist has assembled a collection of some of the world’s finest jazz improvisers, including Ben Van Gelder, Martin Nevin and Jimmy Macbride on the disc “Impressions in Blue” and Alex LoRe, Rick Rosato, and Mark Ferber on the disc “Impressions in Red.” The music was conceived through an investigation into synesthesia and the connection between color, visual art and music.
