About the Album

The Danish award-winning indie-jazz band Girls in Airports releases the single “Kabul” on September 9, 2022. Kabul is the opening single from the upcoming album, which marks their first as a quartet. The first single, Kabul, is the gentle introduction to the album. Behind the gentle surface of the music lies a more serious massage. The single was written in the days before Kabul fell to the Taliban and was consequently named after this incident. Kabul is a classic sounding beautiful track but the underlying fast drums by Anders Vestergaard and Victor Dybbroe adds a sense of urgency while Mathias Holm’s keyboard improvisation is filled with emotion.
