About the Album
Although they’re normally an ocean apart, the duo of Brooklyn-based pianist Luke Marantz and Berlin-based Irish guitarist/electric bassist Simon Jermyn have kept their commitment to making their compelling and beguiling duo music, like the sessions that brought them together for the album “Echoes.” The track “Country” finds them exploring the musical realm that has recently been termed “ambient Americana.” Marantz’s hypnotic, driving piano playing is layered underneath Jermyn’s twangy and ethereal textures.
