About the Album
‘Carousel’ is a lyrical up-tempo tune about the cycles of life. Beginning quietly with one of Simon Vincent's signature delicate piano solo intros, the rest of the Trio (Roland Fidezius on bass, and Kay Lübke on drums) joins in to build the tune into a powerful and moving performance, full of swing and groove, before bringing everything right down to a delicate finish.
The Occasional Trio's reputation for insatiable energy and formidable interplay grows every time they meet on stage, with each concert a unique experience. Their new album Live In Berlin, recorded over 2 evenings at the wonderful Schlot Jazz Club, finds them in excellent form as they explore their diverse repertoire of tunes.
Live In Berlin has already been receiving great reviews, highlighting the Trio's "exuberant and dynamic, intimate and lyrical" approach to Simon Vincent's "beautiful, carefully prepared compositions... full of sophisticated melodies and endearing harmonies."
We are positive that you won't be disappointed with this "front-row" live album, showing just what The Occasional Trio is capable of.
