Originally performed by The Beatles, "Because" is the first single from "After Hours", the third studio album (and first record as a duo) by Italian singer and storyteller Germana Stella La Sorsa with renowned British guitarist Tom Ollendorff. La Sorsa and Ollendorff’s cover of the Beatles song “Because” condenses the original overdubbed vocal harmonies into a raw acoustic version with just a single vocal line and a gently driving guitar part. The overdubs of the original are referenced at the end of the song but this time it is the guitar using a loop pedal that generates layers of rhythm, that both La Sorsa and Ollendorff use as a springboard for ethereal, conversational improvisation.
