Deanna Bogart: Live
ByVocalist/Pianist/Saxophonist Deanna Bogart has released several albums on several labels which are a ‘who’s who’(Blind Pig, Shanachie, Rounder, and Flying Fish) of the blues record business since 1990. All of these albums were met with much critical acclaim, but hardly the commercial success you would have expected. Everyone always said in order to fully appreciate how great Deanna is, you have to see her live.
This album represents wonderfully the foot stompin’, hand clappin’, piano keys smokin’ experience that is a Deanna Bogart concert.
Deanna’s live album fully displays her delightful and rollicking marriage of the blues, funk, soul and R&B. Her tight rhythm section of bassist Eric Scott and drummer Mike Aubin help her immensely in this mission. If you remain motionless during “Ok, Ill Play the Blues,” or “Checks and Love Letters,” then you need to run out to your doctor and have your pulse checked!
