Hank Johnson: Hank Johnson Trio

The Hank Johnson Trio has finally arrived presenting New original tunes for the 21st Century with 20th Century Standards of excellence. The CD begins with an original composition by Stuart H. Tresser entitled A La Mode which introduces the listener to some easy to understand modal harmony. Most modal harmony is hard for the beginning jazz listener to understand because it requires a taste to appreciate the sounds. Each tune on the CD is different and interesting musically as it appeals to everyone not just jazz people. There are also some public domain classics included like St. James Infirmary,Saint Louis Blues, with three musicians working together to produce a truly great CD to enjoy and listen to anytime.

The CD is available online by going to the website: http://www.jazzbonerecords.com You can hear for yourself an mp3 sample of the opening tune A La Mode and you be the judge!I can honestly reccomend this CD to anyone who enjoys real tunes played on a real acoustic piano by a great pianist, Hank Johnson.

Personnel

Hank Johnson, Piano; Gary Smith, drums; "Cool Mike" Fitzbenjamin, bass.
