Tzigano Jazz: Erda Poima

Singolare duetto tra la fisarmonica di Beppe Castagna e il sax soprano di Marco Ronzani su un repertorio originale e composito, Tzigano Jazz, nelle parole dello stesso Castagna, “nasce dall’esigenza di fondere e rielaborare alcune delle culture musicali che fanno parte della nostra esperienza, per ottenere una sorta di ‘nomadismo musicale’ tra jazz, musica popolare veneta e tango argentino”.

Questo particolarissimo “nomadismo” emerge molto bene all’ascolto, in parte grazie alle composizioni di Castagna, che ve ne racchiudono le mappe, in parte grazie ai due interpreti, che sanno percorrerne i sentieri.

Se, infatti, Castagna è sobrio e attento interprete della fisarmonica, che sa piegare alle più diverse esigenze, Ronzani mostra una sorprendente padronanza del sax soprano, che utilizza in modo sempre tanto semplice, quanto tale da sfruttarne le molteplici possibilità espressive in modo ben funzionale ai diversi contesti musicali (si ascoltino, a mo’ d’esempi, le sue performance in “The Legend of ’900” e in “Esigenze & fatalità”).

Ne scaturisce un lavoro che si inserisce nella vasta produzione nostrana di “folklore immaginario”, ma che ha una sua forte originalità sia nei temi che nelle forme interpretative. E che per questo merita un’attenzione particolare.
